Approximately 80% of TWS headset shipments in India are local brands, up 143% ye
In the latest report from global research firm Counterpoint, India’s true wireless Bluetooth headsets (TWS headsets) saw rapid growth in the third quarter.
TWS headset shipments doubled year-over-year to 143 percent, driven by major festivals, various promotions, and many brand launches.
The biggest contributors to shipments came from local brands, accounting for about 80% of shipments, including boAt, Noise, Mivi, Boult Audio, Ptron, Mobatree, 5 Elements, Duffer, and Chinese brand One Plus, which returned to the top five of TWS headphones in India with two new products, Nord Buds and Nord Buds CE, in fourth place.
Apple, Samsung and other global brands accounted for about 8% of shipments, achieving 91% YoY growth and 9% YoY growth in the third quarter.
The five largest brands of TWS headset shipments, accounting for almost 70% of the overall market shipments.
Among them, boAt grew 129 percent year-over-year and was No. 1 in shipments for the ninth consecutive quarter. Noise was second for the fourth consecutive quarter, with its VS102 model alone gaining 4percent market share in the third quarter.
In terms of TWS headset prices, they are largely clustered in the Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 3,000 range (about $90 to $260).
In terms of best-selling models, senior research analyst Jain offered the following findings.
boAt accounted for seven of the top 10 best-selling models. The Airdopes 131 topped the list for the sixth consecutive quarter with a 9% share
